Roman Villa of the columns

The installation of the original building, dating from the first century BC and second century A.D., are preserved in full perimeter walls, with circular towers.

The turreted walls, built in imitation of the city’s fortifications, is an element that characterizes other residences of the territory of Cosa, as the famous villa of Settefinestre. In addition to having a system similar to the latter, the villa of Columns also had to belong to the same owners, the family of the senatorial Sestii.
